1. Who we are
This website is operated by PS Drylining & Interiors Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 10918315. Registered office: 34 Larchfields, Saughall, Chester, England, CH1 6BU.
We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. If you have any questions about how we use your data, contact us at peter@ps-drylining.co.uk or on 07593 008415.
2. What this notice covers
This notice explains what personal data we collect through this website and in the course of quoting for and delivering commercial dry lining, acoustic, carpentry and ceiling packages, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what your rights are under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
3. The data we collect
Enquiry and quote forms. When you use the "Get a quote" or "General enquiry" form we collect the details you provide: your name, company, role, phone number, work e-mail address, project name and location, the package you are interested in, a start date, any notes, and any drawings or files you upload (for example PDF or DWG files).
Direct contact. If you call, e-mail or write to us we keep a record of the correspondence and your contact details.
Tendering and projects. When we price or deliver a package for a main contractor or fit-out company we hold the business contact details of the people we deal with on that project (project managers, quantity surveyors, site managers), together with project documents such as drawings, specifications, programmes, valuations and site correspondence.
Technical data. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time) for security and to keep the site running. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors.
We do not collect special category data, and this website is not intended for, and does not knowingly collect data from, children.
4. Why we use your data and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote (lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries).
- To deliver a package once instructed, including programme co-ordination, variations, valuations and handover documentation (lawful basis: performance of a contract, and compliance with legal obligations such as construction, health and safety and tax rules, including the Construction Industry Scheme).
- To keep records required by company, tax and construction law (lawful basis: legal obligation).
- To stay in touch about future work with main contractors and fit-out companies we have worked with or quoted for, by e-mail or phone (lawful basis: legitimate interests in business-to-business marketing; you can ask us to stop at any time).
- To keep the website secure and to prevent spam and abuse of our forms (lawful basis: legitimate interests).
5. Who we share your data with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only where needed to run the business:
- Service providers who host this website and our e-mail, and who process form submissions on our behalf. They act on our instructions under written contracts.
- Professional advisers such as our accountants, insurers and, where relevant, legal advisers.
- Suppliers and other trades on a project, to the extent needed to co-ordinate deliveries and site works (for example a site contact name and phone number).
- Authorities where we are required to by law, for example HMRC in connection with the Construction Industry Scheme.
Some of our service providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the UK adequacy regulations or on standard contractual safeguards approved for use in the UK.
6. How long we keep your data
- Enquiries that do not lead to a quote: up to 12 months from your last contact with us.
- Quotes and tenders: up to 3 years after the quote date, so we can respond if the project is revived.
- Uploaded drawings and files for projects we do not win: deleted within 12 months of the quote decision.
- Project records for packages we deliver (contracts, drawings, valuations, correspondence, handover documentation): 6 years after practical completion, in line with limitation periods and construction industry practice, or longer where a contract or statute requires it.
- Accounting and tax records: 6 years from the end of the relevant financial year, as required by law.
- Server logs: retained by our hosting provider for a short rolling period, typically no more than 90 days.
7. Cookies and third-party content
This website uses only strictly necessary technical cookies (for example to remember a form you were completing). We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. If we add analytics in future, this notice will be updated and, where required, you will be asked for consent.
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google's servers, which involves Google receiving your IP address. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Links to LinkedIn and Facebook take you to those services, which have their own privacy notices.
8. Security
We protect personal data with appropriate technical and organisational measures: the website is served over HTTPS, form submissions are protected against automated abuse, access to our e-mail and project files is limited to people who need it, and we keep our systems updated. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and the ICO where the law requires it if a breach affects your data.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- rectify data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- erase your data in certain circumstances;
- restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests, including business-to-business marketing;
- data portability for data you provided to us that we process by automated means on the basis of a contract or consent;
- withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our lawful basis.
To exercise any of these rights, e-mail peter@ps-drylining.co.uk. We will respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on a request.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time, for example if we change how the website works or if the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
