The King Alfred School, Bath
Project Type
Construction of a new wing
Location
Bath, United Kingdom
We enthusiastically completed the construction of a new wing at The King Alfred School in Bath, delivering specialised fire protection and acoustic solutions through precision-built wall and ceiling systems.
Scope of work:
• Encasing freestanding steel columns with a double 15mm fire line board for fire protection.
• Installing a mass barrier ceiling consisting of 100mm insulation, two layers of 12.5mm fire line plasterboard, and fire taping, followed by an MF suspended ceiling finished with 12.5mm standard plasterboard and a 3mm skim coat.
• Constructing twin walls around steel structures using double-lined 70mm studs and tracks with deflection heads (two layers of 15mm fire line board, fire strip, and fire mastic). These were finished with 12mm OSB, one layer of Duraline board, and a 3mm skim coat.
• Installing MF suspended ceilings on slopes with British Gypsum Gyptone Quattro 46 plasterboards and skylight detailing, completed with a 3mm skim coat.
